AMROC is an organization of approximately 30 members who build and operate the G, O and S, HO, and N scale club layouts. Some members confine their efforts to one gauge; others participate in the construction and operation of several gauges. Every Thursday evening at 7:30PM, AMROC is open to the public FREE of charge to provide advice on modeling, to provide advice on servicing model trains, to allow model train watching, and to allow the public to run some of their trains!

AMROC will often give a throttle to a guest, especially young engineers, to run one of the AMROC trains themselves. They also generally allow guests of all ages to bring and run their own equipment. Whether you have a young fellow that wants to try his Thomas on the 'big' layout, or you are a seasoned hobbyist trying out your newest masterpiece, AMROC invites you to join them on a Thursday night!

The original structure was built in 1850 as an arsenal to manufacture guns and bladed weapons - initially for the state militia and later for the Confederate armies. After its destruction in 1865 by General Sherman, the arsenal was rebuilt and housed the Palmetto Iron Works. Today, AMROC members meet in this building to hold their monthly business meetings and as a place to set up our their modular layouts for Open House events throughout the year.

Check out some of AMROC pictures below and make plans to visit them on a Thursday night to experience the world's greatest hobby! Visit their website www.amroc.org for additional information about special holiday shows throughout the year.
