8th Annual Lake Carolina Oyster Roast

If you like oysters, barbeque, and live music, join us for the 8th Annual Oyster Roast coming up this Saturday, March 3, 2012. Lake Carolina will host this exciting event in support of Children's Charities of the Midlands. This year's roast will take place at the beautiful, newly constructed Lake House at Lake Carolina. Guests will enjoy an expansive lawn and patio area, beach access, and a gorgeous open air building. The panoramic view of the lake is stunning from both indoors and out! Lake Carolina invites you, your friends, and your family to join them for a spectacular evening of live music, delicious food, and incredible views! The Coconut Groove Band will be providing live musical entertainment while guests feast on fresh local oysters steamed to perfection, finger licking good southern barbeque, and refreshing beverages. Bring along a glove and shucking knife to dig into the oyster buckets. Extra knives and hand towels will be provided by Lake Carolina! Guests are encouraged to bring lounge chairs and blankets for relaxing in the sunshine. Outside coolers are also welcomed at this event.

The 8th Annual Oyster Roast will be held in support of Children's Charities of the Midlands. This organization is dedicated to promoting charitable endeavors that are committed to improving the health, welfare and education of South Carolina's youth. Join us for delicious food and great memories with friends and family to help support this wonderful cause!

2012 CAPS Soccer Clinic

Children's Chance is a nonprofit organization established in 1996 to assist children with cancer and their families in South Carolina with non medical needs. They are the only statewide organization that offers programs that focus completely on non medical assistance for the entire family during a child's cancer treatment and recovery, making them a unique organization. Coming up this February 2012, we have the opportunity to help out and support these families in need while participating in an exciting special event taking place right here in Columbia, South Carolina. Check out this wonderful opportunity to support this great cause and plan ahead to attend this spectacular event!

CAPS Soccer Clinic is hosted by the YMCA Columbia United and the USC Men's Soccer Team and Coaches. This special soccer clinic is designed for both children and their parents! Participants have the chance to learn soccer from the University of South Carolina Varsity Team and Coaches. Proceeds from this event benefit Children's Chance. The cost is only $35.00 per child and additional siblings can participate for only $25.00 each.

This spectacular event is fun for the entire family and it benefits a really great cause. Keep an eye out for Zig the Pig at this special event! Zig the Pig is the lovable Zebra striped Pig who serves as the ambassador for Children's Chance. Zig is an advocate for children with cancer and visits schools, businesses, and community events to raise awareness and funds to help his kids.
