The SC Book Festival is a premier literary event in the state of South Carolina. The Festival features over 70 authors in readings, solo presentations, panel discussions, and book signings. There is also an Exhibit Hall filled with book sellers and community organizations. Featured authors will have books available for purchase. For additional information about the presentation schedule, please click here. In addition, there are over 80 exhibitors, including an Antiquarian Book Fair, selling books and book-related items. Even children will enjoy this spectacular Columbia event in the Children's Pavilion that offers children's activities and a Summer Reading Station all weekend long! The best part? This festival is FREE and open to the public on Saturday, May 19th and Sunday, May 20th at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. The Convention Center is located at 1101 Lincoln Street, Columbia, South Carolina.
In addition to a weekend full of free activities, there will be featured workshops at various locations around the Columbia area during the day on Friday, May 18th. These special events will be offered for a nominal registration fee. The Exhibits will be closed to the general public on Friday, May 18th because this day features registered, ticketed only events. The SC Book Festival is gearing up for a spectacular 2012 event. There will be free festival book bags to the first 100 attendees, giveaways and a chance to enter drawings for free books and gifts all day long, and free door prize giveaways in the afternoon sessions.
