The South Carolina Gamecocks won their 13th straight season opener on Thursday, August 30, 2012 with a 17-13 victory over Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks were trailing 13-10 in the beginning of the 4th quarter, but Lattimore scored the game winning touchdown with 11 minutes and 25 seconds remaining in the game.
