Ice Skating at Boyd Plaza

Enjoy the last few days of this winter celebration at Boyd Plaza! Put on some skates and zoom around this new ice skating rink located at the corner of Hampton and Main Streets in Boyd Plaza. The rink is open seven days per week. Hours vary. Call 803-545-3100 for more information.

Polar Bear Plunge
January 5, 2013 at 10AM
Brave the chilly waters in support of Children's Charities of the Midlands at the Polar Bear Plunge. The first splash is scheduled to occur at 10:30AM in lake Carolina's Sunset Park. Adult polar bears are asked to make a $10 donation to Children's Charities of the Midlands before taking the plunge. Polar bears younger than 18 are just $5 per participant. Big Tree Hike
January 5, 2013 from 1PM - 4PM
Join one of the park's founding fathers, John Cely, for a three hour off-trail hike to see some of Congaree's largest old-growth trees. South Carolina State Museum: Secrets of the Maya Exhibit

Secrets of the Maya unearths the mysteries of the Maya from 2000 B.C. to the present with more than 125 artifacts on display, a photography gallery, reproductions of stone carvings, hands-on activities for kids, objects from contemporary Maya culture and much more.
