Kick off your July 4th Celebrations on June 29, 2013 at the beautiful Lake Murray! The day begins with a boat parade at approximately 12PM. Boats will meet at Bomb Island and head towards the Lake Murray Dam. This year's theme is Red, White, & Bling! Watch to see who wins the Grand Prize of $500! The Town of Gilbert will host the 55th Lexington County Peach Festival on July 4, 2013! Festivities will kick off at 8:30AM and stretch into the night until 10PM when the day will come to a close with a dazzling display of fireworks. The Peach Pageant, Peach Parade, Live Entertainment, Art Contest, and Antique Car show are just a few of the exciting events that visitors can look forward to at this local festival! Star Spangled Symphonic Salute
July 4, 2013
Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra presents the Star Spangled Symphonic Salute at Saluda Shoals Park. Enjoy a 4th of July picnic and a night-time patriotic tribute with an inspiring synchronized program of live symphonic music and laser lights. The 2013 Fight For Air Climb is one of the most unique events held in Columbia, SC. Participants will raise money and make an impact in honor of those who have lost their lives to lung disease. Hundreds of people will huff and puff their way up 479 steps in the Capitol Center. Each summer the Southeastern Piano Festival transforms the University of South Carolina School of Music and Columbia into a major cultural destination that draws in audiences and young piano talent from across the United States.
